Course objective
The course objective is to provide the participants with a comprehensive knowledge of the technical fundamentals of Functional Safety in the process industry.
The course has a practical approach.
Course description
At this three-day course, the participants will gain in-depth knowledge and skills that enable them to perform work during all Functional Safety Lifecycle phases with special regards to Operation and Maintenance according to the IEC 61511 standard.
The participants learn how to identify and reduce risks in order to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Who should attend?
Electrical Technicians, Instrument Technicians, and Operation Technicians who are involved in the operation and maintenance of a Functional Safety system.

Prerequisite for the course (with certificate)
The participant is required to have a relevant technical education / training and a minimum of 2 years practical experience with safety systems e.g. test and maintenance.
The education / training must be documented. It is TÜV Rheinland that decides, whether the participant can obtain a certificate pending on their experience and exam result.
